​​The Marian Sims Baughn Literary Center is a celebrated part of the English Department and Creative Writing Program.  Poetry readings, book signings, and open mic nights are a few of the events hosted at the center to promote creative writing and literary arts among students and community members alike.

The goal of the Center is to create an environment in which creative writing students can sharpen their skills and promote their talents.  The Center is designed to provide advanced education and to be a resource library for the advancement of the craft of writing.

The Center also sponsors community literary events in coordination with local school districts and organizations, and it also hosts guest writer workshops.
